Vampire society used to be divided between the "Low" and "High" society. The devision was arbitrary as it was based on blood type. The origins of the division came from the belief that some blood types are worse at magic than other, belief that was ultimately debunked. The division was seen by many as completely useless. Laws regarding the division were abolished when Stelyvan decided to marry Sierra.
